Vancouver Canucks Defeat the San Jose Sharks and go to the Stanley Cup Final!

Purple Girls and Green Men (translation ladies and gentlemen) may I present to you the winners of the 2010-2011 Presidents Trophy and Clarence S. Campbell Bowl (NHL regular season Champions and Western Conference Champions) the VANCOUVER CANUCKS!!!!!!

The FANTASY LIVES!

The city descends into the mayhem of celebration; Metro Vancouver is a party zone, let me whisper…we now enter our third time ever in the Stanley Cup Final…

The Canuck Orca’s chew up and spit out the San Jose sharklings 4 games to 1 and the city on the bay nestled at the foot of the mountains is delirious with excitement. The Sea to Sky City is flying sky high…

Who shall be our next victim the sluggish Lighting or the boring Bruins? Predictions abound, it matters not who we play, clean sweep say many, in 4 games they say…but I suspect that may be premature after all it took the Canucks 5 games to defeat the toothless sharkies.

Could it be…could it be that in my lifetime and yours the Vancouver
Canucks will win the Stanley Cup? It looks not only possible but probable! Shear utter madness but true….But let us not count our Cup yet even if the silverware has been sighted migrating to Orcaland…

Bring on the East, Orca eat bear meat and lightning? We have Sami Salo’s thunder shot…While it may not pay off to buy a broom to celebrate a clean sweep it may help to buy a bear trap and bottled lighting…

Enjoy the moment, how sweet it is…but the job it not done…We want the CUP!

Orcas Eat Sharks Alive Canucks Win Game 1 Over the Sharks

Dare to fantasize...
The Vancouver Canucks took a 1-0 lead in the Stanley Cup Western Conference Final over the San Jose Sharks.
Both goaltenders proved again that goalies should not leave the net, their equipment that allows for stopping pucks in the net are a deficit out of the net and both paid the price for such folly. Both goalies made some fine saves but Niemi seemed to inspire more confidence although he allowed one more goal in the Sharks 3-2 loss to the Canucks.
The Sedin’s were both sharper than in past games and Kesler was at times a force of nature while the Sharks forwards were good but not good enough. The Canucks third line often ate the Sharks up and spit them out.
The Canucks defensemen proved to have greater depth than the Sharks. The war in the trenches in both teams’ goal creases was prime Stanley Cup Playoffs.

What shall I Twitter about?

Well it will always be the Unedited Uncensored Video of my Mind…I will reveal my inner thoughts like never before…this is personal…and I mean business (what does that mean? Good question says I).

Everything the Blade Vision Network already slashes and burns shall fall victim to my arsenal of wordishness (except much more abbreviated, no not inebriated)…but as I said this is personal…you want the depth of shallowness of my mind this is it! (Somehow that does not seem quite right…but I promised not to edit didn’t I?)

Follow me on Twitter as I expose life as it is and life as it should be…there could be some dirty images for the theater of the mind…my ideas and ideals stripped naked (that should do it for the marketing, I should do product placement for Survivor)…

Vancouver Canucks vs LA Kings 40 Year Repeat? Captain Henrik Sedin

Blogging the Vancouver Canucks….

Celebrating 40 Years of the Vancouver Canucks in the NHL…

Henrik Sedin is the Canucks new captain…an obvious choice plus it is good that Luongo is no longer the captain….

The Canucks looked like they should have been able to win this game. They seemed to have the more fluid play and were good on the rush but they did not have what it takes to get the kill.

The Sedin’s looked good, Mason Raymond looked stronger on the puck than in the past and Ryan Kesler looked like he was a bit sluggish. Luongo looked pretty good considering he did not have much of a pre-season…Kopitar came back strong for LA after the nasty injury. In the end the Canucks did not have what it takes to dethrone the Kings…

The question is will the Canucks finally win the Stanley Cup after 40 seasons? 40 seasons! Will they simply repeat the results of seasons past?

The Fantasy Hockey point standings thus far (by the way I am aware that others have joined they just need to fine tune things so they are in our elite group)…

Vancouver Canucks Fantasy Hockey FINAL Winner

The Chicago Black Hawks win the Stanley Cup…such is the accomplishment that some are shocked at the tenacity and skill with which they captured the Cup denied to all other bidders this season…lastly the Philadelphia Flyers who valiantly attempted to stem the tide in the final…

Tenacity and skill are also words that can be applied to our Vancouver Canucks Fantasy Hockey FINAL Winner…They played an unrivaled game of triumphal boldness yet clever selection…I am emboldened and have set my eyes firmly upon the horizon of victory because of the modeling of our winner who is…

Livingsword with 207 points…How amazingly satisfying and profound it is to see that I have been speaking of myself with such aplomb! Well indeed it is not easy being me…fortunately I am perfuse with humbleness…

The scores of those who valiantly tried to defeat such a champion are…

Chocolate Girl…my perfect hockey wife who looked positively wonderful the entire season with 200 points, Izac55 who won the regular season but like the Vancouver Canucks simply melted away to tee times in the playoffs with169 points (was he just not willing to take the hits in front of the net?), the secretive Vik007 with 162 (Vik007 who are you masked man?), Max1977 (Maximus Portugueseus Princessus) with 74 points and Licenced (Licenced to Thrill…the man Bond wants to be) with 47…hmmm the opposite numbers of Max…interesting…has anybody seen Dave Licenced and Max in the same room at the same time?

I take my victory lap around the virtual hockey rink carrying the virtual Stanley Cup…I am the Champion…I am the Champion…ahhh the fragrance of victory…something that I have enjoyed so many times but have not become jaded to…

Hopefully the Canucks will make drastic changes to the team so they can do better in the playoffs next season and win the Cup…yes the reality is they shall not and the Canucks will be losers again…but this is about FANTASY…now on to the WORLD CUP…

GO BRAZIL GO!

San Jose Sharks vs Chicago Blackhawks Stanley Cup Playoffs Game 1 Thunder on Ice

Blogging the San Jose Sharks because the Vancouver Canucks will never win the Cup with their current team…

It was very entertaining hockey with rumbling checks, wicked moves, slick passes and a formidable pace…Neither team could dominate the other and there were plenty of scoring opportunities and flashes of talent. Both goaltenders had moments of brilliance and lapses in judgment…

Boyle, Pavelski, Setoguchi, Heatly and Thornton had teeth and smelt blood…

Seabrook, Byfuglien, Kane and Toews were loose cannons priming the target…

In the end the Hawks prevailed 2-1…however the Sharks look like they could take control with a few adjustments…this series is thunder on ice…

Vancouver Canucks REPLACED by the San Jose Sharks

Blogging the San Jose Sharks Stanley Cup Playoffs….

As the Vancouver Canucks proved to be pathetic in the Stanley Cup Playoffs (and will never win the cup with the current lineup) we will adopt the San Jose Sharks as our team for the remainder of this season’s NHL playoffs…the Sharks are now our team by proxy…if they lose we will then adapt to keep the fantasy alive…

GO SHARKS GO

At least the Toronto Maple Leafs are still much worse than the Canucks….

Vancouver Canucks vs Chicago Blackhawks Stanley Cup Playoffs Game 6 FINAL

Blogging the Vancouver Canucks vs Chicago Blackhawks Stanley Cup Playoffs…

The Canucks lose 5-1 to the Hawks…the Canucks are eliminated from the Stanley Cup Playoffs…

While the Canucks seemed ok in the first period they deflated in the second and imploded in the third…

Although the Sedin’s picked up their game…you could tell they were actually on the ice and they did not give every pass to the Hawks…overall they more than a disappointment…once again showing they do not have what it takes to win the Stanley Cup…

Samuelsson who was playing badly was pathetic in the third period (he made more passes to the Hawks than Tiger Woods to waitresses at a diner…Demitra was awful…Grabner leaves the ice injured…

Wellwood was the Canucks best forward…by far…

The defense played with a lot of injuries…and it was evident that some players were worn down by the Hawks superior physical game…The Canucks were out hit and out played…

Luongo made some good saves but showed he is not the BIG goalie Vancouver wants him to be…occasionally he is brilliant…however he did not win a game for the Canucks in the playoffs and almost every team needs that at least once in the playoffs…Niemi did not look great in the Hawks net..

The Canucks did not score enough goals, they did not threaten the net enough…they lacked urgency…

A lot has to be placed at the feet of the Sedin’s as the big money forwards along with Kesler and Luongo…but what about the couch and GM?

The Canucks while having a good regular season team do not have what it takes to win the Stanley Cup…

Congratulations to the Chicago Blackhawks….

We will be presenting a playoff debrief and thoughts for next season…however since it appears that the Canucks will NEVER win the Stanley Cup with this line up of players we will adopt another team for the next round…It will be our Proxy Fantasy Team…

Coming soon our surprise semi-final adoption…

Vancouver Canucks vs Chicago Blackhawks Stanley Cup Playoffs Game 6 Period 2

Blogging the Vancouver Canucks vs Chicago Blackhawks Stanley Cup Playoffs…

We exit the period mercifully with the Canucks down just 3-0…

The Canucks are bleeding blue on defense…its easy to come down on the Canucks defense but they are so banged up they are still playing pretty good…they just don’t have enough left over to get all the goals the forwards are supposed to get…Salo looks ill…but he always looks ill!

Luongo makes some brilliant saves but does not slam the door shut like some other playoff goalies have…The Canucks have barely tested Niemi in the Hawks goal…

The Sedin’s can barely make a pass never mind score a goal…one play so far in this game they have been prominent…other than that they have been pathetic...I almost forgot they played for the Canucks…The Hawks big guns have showed up where are the Sedin’s? Are they once again going Missing In Action in the playoffs?

Demitra’s horrid play at the Hawks blue line leads to the Hawks third goal…a break-away short-handed goal! Every time Samuelsson gets the puck he passes it to a Hawk…Kesler has not made a difference…Burrows…has Burrows even been on the ice? Yes he has played 12:27 but he is like a ghost out there…

Wellwood and Raymond have been playing well but they are picking up more minutes than they can handle…Wellwood has been the best forward by far…

So here we stand…the Canucks playing in Vancouver…down 3 games to 2…enter the third period down 3-0 to the Hawks…this is an opportunity for glory…unfortunately if they lose they will blame penalties…whereas it is apparent that their best players need to be their best players…such has not been the case…or has it?

Now we shall see what they are made of…
